      ] recommend antibiotic prophylaxis with oral levofloxacin, and indicate that intracameral cefuroxime injection could reduce the incidence of postoperative endophthalmitis, although this has a low level of evidence. With continuous improvement in surgical techniques and infection control measures, there is a need to assess current rates of postoperative endophthalmitis in routine practice.
